The A. B. & C's of Junior High
Academics

At NCA we endeavor to challenge the mind and nourish the spirit of each young person. We seek to challenge each student to raise their own personal academic bar and develop their God given aptitudes, skills and strengths.
Our curriculum is aligned to meet the CA State standards and prepare each graduate for a successful high school education.

Accreditation

NCA has received a preliminary, accreditation  from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges - WASC. We will be re-visited in the fall of 2010 and hope to receive a 6 year clear accreditation term.

Attendance

If a child is going to be absent from school, we ask that you call the office by 8:00 AM on the day of their absence, and leave your child's name, grade and reason for the absence.

At this important junior high level, class attendance is of primary importance. It might be possible to make up work, that is missed, however, the actual instruction cannot be made up.

It is the responsibility of the student to speak with each of their teachers when they return to find out what work is to be made up.

Students that are absent on the day of a test, will not be premitted to makeup the test, the next test in that class, will count as double.

Homework assignments are posted online and therefore requests for homework will be directed to view the online postings.

Families planning a vacation during the school year are asked to submit a "Planned Absence" form to the office.
